Evan York Wins at Fork Mountain

Bassett, V.A. (9/3/11) -- Evan York made his transition from road racing to dirt racing complete by winning Saturday night's 20 lap main event at Fork Mountain Raceway in Bassett, Virginia. The Charlotte resident led flag to flag to capture his first Legends Dirt Modified race in only his seventh dirt track start.

York was followed to the line by Sammy Jasper in second, Jerry Lambert in third & Mark Lowrey in fifth. The event at Fork Mountain Raceway was the first Legends Dirt Modified away race for the series.

The Legends Dirt Modifieds will return to East Lincoln Speedway for the next round of the 2011 points championship. Points leader Willy Evernham has a slim 21 point margin over second place runner Tommy Corellis. The most recent Legends Dirt Modified winner at East Lincoln Speedway, Mark Lowrey, sits third in points trailing Corellis by 17 poins & Evernham by 38 points.
